Critical Path is a talk show contemplating the causality of success and failure in mobile computing. Using Apple as a lens to look at both telecom and traditional computing markets, we try to understand what it means to be great.

History

The first episode of The Critical Path was release on June 7, 2011. Horace Dediu had previously been a guest on The Pipeline #52 in April 2011 and his work on asymco.com is regularly cited on The Talk Show as both exemplary and insightful analysis of Apple's business.

On June 9, 2011 with just the first episode released, The Critical Path reached #7 on the iTunes list of most popular audio podcasts, beating out perennial popular shows including The Moth Podcast, The Adam Carolla Show, and Car Talk. Dan announced the position by tweeting a link to a screenshot of the iTunes Podcast listing.

Schedule

The Critical Path is mostly on a weekly release schedule based on host availability and sometimes broadcasts live during recording.
